Midas Pattern Company is an award-winning, carbon net-zero Precision Polyurethane Moulding Company specialising in the manufacture and supply of PU RIM Mouldings. Midas has become synonymous with going green, with 650 solar panels, complete LED lighting, 100% recyclable packaging and of course their 100% Green Gas supplied by Crown Gas & Power.
We wanted to speak with one of our biogas customers to find out exactly how our product helps businesses like Midas overcome traditional barriers and we were blown away by the feedback and the story Alan had to tell.

“You have to speak as you find, and for me, it’s been great. You guys have made this easy. The business has been straightforward, the admin and communication has been spot on.”
“A really important thing to me was the supply of green gas certificates… I needed those on my wall to underline the things I was doing to show customers, suppliers, and employees what we were doing and you got those through really quickly. That was great.”
“I’ve also used your online portal and I think that’s really good because it’s my responsibility to monitor consumption… and that portal helps us.”
“When we began the green initiative back in 2019, the first thing we did was look for a 100% electricity supplier, and a green gas supplier that could offer us an improved carbon footprint by supplying a blend of green gas. And we found you guys, Crown Gas & Power, and you obviously offer a 25%, 50% and 100% biogas option. For me it was a no brainer – we had to have it… not a difficult decision at all.”
One thing we are actively trying to do is raise the awareness of 100% green gas. Many customers still believe offsetting gas usage and utilising blends of natural and biomethane are the only options, whereas 100% green gas IS possible and a lot more affordable than you may think.
“I knew that our reliance on natural gas for heating was going to be a major obstacle on our green journey. So when I realised you guys could offer 100% green gas, it was a no-brainer. We simply had to have it.”
“From realising we could buy 100% green gas from you, we made the decision and signed up all within a couple of days. Frankly, I couldn’t have been happier when that deal was signed. It meant one of the biggest barriers to us becoming carbon neutral was removed, with just one signature.”
“Since that point, we have become carbon neutral certificated, that’s an achievement I’m really proud of, and I have to say, that I’m grateful for you guys, for playing the part that you did. If it wasn’t for Crown Gas & Power, it would have been much harder for us to get to carbon neutrality. I’m really grateful that you helped us do that.”

“Don’t wait, do whatever you can, as quickly as you can. Start with the easy wins; 100% green electricity and 100% green gas, so simple.”
“Whatever it costs to reduce energy will end up being a wise investment. Look to reduce your carbon footprint by reducing waste, reducing travel, cut down on your petrol or diesel usage, ideally go electric if you can. Find excuses to do it, not to not do it. That’s the key.”
“The biggest thing though, is to encourage other people to change what they do by setting your own very best example. If you don’t chase carbon neutrality as quickly as you can, not only will your business’s future be uncertain, but our planet’s future will be uncertain. And our planet deserves to be treated far better than we are treating it now.”
