When will my Direct Debit be taken?

Direct debit payments are taken on or around the 15th of each calendar month. Any amounts due after such date are usually taken around 10 days after the date of invoice.

Will I be invoiced monthly or quarterly?

You will receive your gas supply invoice monthly. Your invoice is produced at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s consumption.

When is the best time to submit a meter reading to ensure I am billed to an actual reading?

Meter reads are to be submitted within the last 3 working days of each calendar month. We recommend that you submit regular meter readings to ensure the accuracy of your bills. Furthermore, you may want to consider having an AMR installed in order to generate more accurate, automatic meter readings, for your convenience. For new customers, once you have transferred we require an opening meter read 3 days before the contract start date. Don’t forget to enroll on to our meter reading reminder list! Can my estimated gas bill be amended?

YES – if you have received an estimated bill, amended meter readings should be submitted within 10 days of the estimated invoice. We aim to reduce the number of estimated energy bills by ensuring our customers take appropriate measures to manage their energy.

How do I submit a meter reading?

We know running your business is important and time isn’t always available, to help save you some time we give you four easy ways to submit your meter readings. But not only that, you can enroll in our meter read reminder list! Read below for more information.

What is an AMR?

This is an Automated Meter Reader (AMR). It is a device which clips onto your existing meter and sends us gas readings automatically which we can use for billing.

How can I get an Automated Meter Reader installed?

You can complete our AMR form and return it to We will pass your details onto our metering partner who will arrange a convenient time to install the equipment. Take a look at our AMR installation Request Form.

What is the vat rate on business gas and electricity?

VAT on business gas and electricity bills is usually charged at a rate of 20%, but some businesses will be able to pay a reduced rate of 5% this if they use less than 33 kilowatt-hours of electricity – or less than 145kw hours of gas – per day due to de minimus. There is also a list of qualifying business types that can qualify for 5% regardless of usage (schools, charities etc).
