We have recently interviewed two of our newest recruits - Junior Accounts Assistant, Jack and Site Works Co-ordinator, Megan.
We will be following their progress over the next few months to see how they find working at Crown Gas & Power.
Crown is nice and welcoming
Jack is our new junior accounts assistant and has joined us on an apprenticeship scheme through Bury College's Employment Gateway.
This latest interview comes after just 4 weeks at Crown Gas and Power.
What did you do before you joined Crown Gas & Power?
I attended Bury Grammar Sixth Form where I studied Economics, Geography and Psychology.
During the summer I worked at Bury College enrolling students on to their courses for the next academic year.
What were your initial thoughts on the company and role before your interview?
I was just looking for accountancy apprenticeships generally through Employment Gateway at Bury College, and the apprenticeship that Crown Gas and Power were offering to me caught my eye.
Why did the apprenticeship at Crown Gas and Power appeal to you?
Purely from my interview, I could tell that there was a young feel to the office and there were a number of people with similar personalities to me. Stories from previous apprentices helped to convince me this was the right place to join.
How did you prepare for the interview?
I researched the role and the company from the job description and found as much info on the company as possible.
Thoughts on the interview process?
The interview was primarily experience based. I have work experience from an accountancy firm in Manchester. My interviewers were friendly and instantly made me feel welcome and relaxed.
Thoughts immediately after the interview?
I was made to feel confident and that I had performed well in my interview, I was happy that I had been made to feel so welcome. It definitely highlighted the company in a positive way.
How was your first day?
I wasn’t nervous on my first day I was more excited than anything. I was again made to feel welcome and didn’t expect the company to be so big in terms of the number of companies associated with the Crown Group.
Thoughts now you are 1-month in?
Crown is still nice and welcoming, everyone is treated the same even from the directors. Everyone is essentially equal and on a level playing field.
Your future ambitions (within the company and the role)?
I want to complete my AAT level 4 and continue to grow further in my accountancy career.
Ultimate career goal?
My ultimate goal is to become a fully qualified accountant.
Amazing! I love my job!
Categorically an outstanding, dedicated, professional albeit friendly sitework team who have proactively worked with us to deliver substantial results.
We are really happy with the service from Crown Gas and Power. We submit readings and receive invoices on time.
When you change gas suppliers and get a fantastic deal, you worry that the service may not be good when you need it, you have certainly put that to rest.
Fantastic, Thank you!
