This entirely depends on how much you use; higher gas consumers can obtain cheaper unit rates however this can be offset due to higher VAT rates and standing charges for larger meters.
VAT on business gas and electricity bills is usually charged at a rate of 20%, but some businesses will be able to pay a reduced rate of 5% this if they use less than 145kw hours of gas – per day, due to de minimus. There is also a list of qualifying business types that can qualify for 5% regardless of usage such as charities.

You can find your MPRN on any bill or contract you have signed previously.
The meter point reference number (MPRN) is the reference number given to your supply pipe whereas your meter serial number is the reference given to your physical meter.
This ensures that despite multiple meter changes over the years your MPRN will always be a constant reference number that is recognized by all domestic and business gas suppliers. In most cases, it’s even possible to retain your MPRN during capacity changes and relocations.

In some cases, suppliers require written notice you wish to leave their supply at the end of the agreement – check your contract for the termination terms and conditions.
The industry standard is between 2-3 weeks from the contract being signed and returned. We will ensure, where possible, we take over the supply the day requested or soonest available.
In some cases, your current supplier can prevent you from switching. Legitimate reasons for objecting to the transfer are;
Ensure you clear any debt on the account and serve notice when intending on leaving. It’s also worth noting that the earliest date you can enter into a new contract is the day AFTER your contract expires, i.e if your contract expires on the 14th, you must tell us to start your contract on the 15th.
